United’s reserves, in name at least, produced another in a long line of stirring comebacks this season to earn a draw in last night’s mid-season friendly with Trafford FC. In truth, this was United’s academy side on show getting in some vital preparation for the imminent onset of FA Youth Cup action under the tutelage of U18s manager Paul McGuinness, with the genuine reserves being saved for Thursday night’s MSC tie with Bolton Wanderers.
