Forest extend Martin loan deal until December 31st

Posted by nickogs20 on August 29, 2008

Nottingham Forest have today announced that, as predicted here a fortnight ago, Lee Martin’s loan deal has been extended until December 31st 2008.

The original one-month loan was rushed through earlier this month in order to allow the Reds winger to play in Forest’s Carling Cup tie against Morecambe, and it was always assumed that the move would be made longer-term before the transfer window closed at the end of August – that has duly happened today.

Lee’s impressive start to his spell with Forest will have doubtless eliminated any possible doubts Colin Calderwood may have had about the player. The 21 year-old has impressed in his three games for the club and opened his goal account at the City Ground with a stunning 25-yard strike in last weekend’s 3-2 win over Watford. Having missed the Reds’ midweek Carling Cup exit due to a calf injury, Lee is expected to return to the starting line-up for tomorrow’s visit to Molineux.
