Febian Brandy’s impact at the Liberty Stadium last season may not have been eye-catching to the casual observer – a modest 3 goals in 19 appearances not the greatest return from a forward – but the Mancunian teenager clearly did something right in his four months as a part of Swansea City’s promotion-winning squad. Swans boss Roberto Martinez was obviously impressed by the 19 year-old’s loan spell and has told the South Wales Evening Post of his desire to acquire Brandy’s services for another season as the League One champions move up to the Championship:
“What Febian brought is something that would suit us really well next season.”
“There wasn’t a day where he didn’t progress and I can only see him going from strength to strength in the Championship.”
“At the moment things are standing still a little at Manchester United because they are on holidays.”
“We will have to wait, but Febian and United know we would love to have him back.”
A season in the second tier would appear to be the ideal next step in Febian’s development, and it would be a real surprise if this loan move doesn’t come to fruition.
