Reserve games re-arranged; the weather claims another

Just as United and a number of their peers had put the finishing touches to a rejigged fixture list, the cold snap has added another game to the ‘to be arranged’ column…
Tonight’s Premier Reserve League North clash with Burnley at Moss Lane has fallen foul of the wintry weather, with a frozen pitch in Altrincham the cause of a postponement for the second straight Thursday. That match will now have to be rearranged, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team will hope for a case of third time lucky when Everton make the trip to face the Reds’ second string next week.
Meanwhile a number of games that had previously been postponed have now been rescheduled, giving the Reds a busy-looking calendar towards the end of the campaign. The Manchester Senior Cup ties with Manchester City (originally scheduled for last week) and Stockport County (delayed since the week before Christmas) have now been pencilled in for Thursday April 22nd and Monday March 8th respectively, the former at Moss Lane and the latter at Hyde United’s Ewen Fields.
One other slight tweak to the fixture list sees this month’s trip to face Blackburn at the new Leigh Sports Village put back twenty-four hours, now taking place on Wednesday February 24th.
