United XI to face Kendal Town in post-season friendly

A Manchester United XI will make the trip north to Cumbria to face Unibond Premier side Kendal Town in a friendly on Saturday May 9th.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be in charge of the team for the game at the Lakeland Radio Stadium, and the side is expected to be mainly made up of the Norwegian’s reserve squad. With the Manchester Senior Cup final against Bolton pencilled in for the following Wednesday, the match against Kendal will be great preparation as the Reds seek to defend that trophy.

Lee Ashcroft’s Kendal side will provide challenging opposition for United, having enjoyed a terrific season themselves, edging out FC United for a place in the playoffs before narrowly losing to Ilkeston Town 4-3 after extra-time in the playoff semi-final.

The game kicks off at 2pm on Saturday 9th May, and tickets are priced at £6. The following details are from Kendal Town’s official website:

Kendal Town will play a MUFC XI in an end of season friendly on Saturday 9th May, 2pm kick-off. The team is managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and there will be several recognised players who have played first team football (to be confrmed nearer the time). Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 29th April and are only £6.00 each.

Ticket availability :- From the ground (In The Park) :- Thursday 6pm-9pm :- Friday 6pm-9pm :- Sunday 11am-5pm

From Burrells newsagents :- Thursday onwards

From Sandylands Spar :- Thursday onwards

From Heron Hill Spar :- Thursday onwards

    They’ll be available to buy from the ground from midday onwards, so I’m told.
