Amos, Drinkwater & Welbeck keep England U19 places for Germany friendly

Ben Amos, Daniel Drinkwater and Danny Welbeck have retained their places in the England U19 squad for the forthcoming international friendly against European champions Germany.
All three were part of the squad that recently won through to the elite qualifying round for next year’s U19 European Championships, and coach Brian Eastick has included the United trio again as his side prepare to take on the Germans in a friendly at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday November 18.
Drinkwater’s impressive performances in last month’s first qualifying round in Northern Ireland (where England beat the hosts and Albania to qualify) should put him in prime position to earn another start for his country, while the absence of regular keeper Jason Steele should give Amos a great chance to make his first appearance at this level.
Welbeck meanwhile might be a slight doubt for the game, having only just re-appeared in a United shirt in yesterday’s reserve friendly with Celtic after picking up a groin injury in that first qualifying round a month ago.
