Quartet get the call as England prepare for Euro U19 finals

As England get set for a European final against Germany at Under-21 level, Brian Eastick’s Under-19′s are preparing to launch their own bid to become age group champions of the continent in Ukraine next month. Four United youngsters will be part of the squad, with Eastick today selecting Ben Amos, Danny Drinkwater, Matt James and Danny Welbeck in his 18-man travelling party.

England have (eventually) overcome Sweden to reach the final of the 2009 UEFA Under-21 European Championship, but Fraizer Campbell will play no part in Monday’s clash with Germany after being sent off for two bookable offences.

Fraizer Campbell had already booked his place in Friday’s UEFA U21 European Championship semi-finals with England, but fellow United star Zoran Tošić will not be joining him after Serbia bowed out of the tournament this evening in tumultuous fashion.

Pre-season schedule given a continental flavour

Pre-season programme takes shape; date set for LSC Final

2008/09 is done and dusted but, as is evermore the case in football these days, the start of the next campaign will soon be upon us, kicking off with the first pre-season fixtures in little over a month. While the first team will be touring Asia, taking part in the inaugural Audi Cup in Munich and entertaining Valencia at Old Trafford, the reserves and academy have their own itinerary fast taking shape.

Duo make international debuts
